Tourism

Gradiška based its tourist potential on the diversity and richness of the geographical, historical and natural sights of Kozara, Lijevče polje and Posavina, i.e. on rural, excursion, hunting and fishing and ecotourism, permeated with cultural events. The city tourism, the Sava River, Donja Dolina and transit tourism should also be mentioned since the biggest and most significant border crossing point from Europe to BiH is located in Gradiška.

Famous picnics and archaeological sites are Monastery site of Karanovac in Gornji Kijevci from the Roman period and the Middle Ages, Vrbaški grad from the 13th century, the log church in Romanovci from the 18th century, the cave in Trnovac, as well as the “Subotići” picnic area in the Kozara village and the bathing place “Jezero” in Laminci. The large project “Archaeological Ecological Park Donja Dolina-Bardača” is one of the projects that are respectable for European standards.

Many rich and varied cultural and entertainment events are held in Gradiška throughout all seasons.

Health

The health care system in the area of the city consists of three public health institutions.

The Health Centre, as a primary health care provider, with a total of 27 family medicine teams working in accordance with European standards.

The General Hospital, as a secondary health care provider, meets all the needs of a modern acute hospital.
The pharmacy institution is responsible for trade and preparation of medicinal products in the area of city.

Education

Gradiška has a long tradition in education. The education is provided by seven primary schools, three secondary schools and primary music school. Schools are equipped with modern equipment and teaching aids and are trained for organizing modern classes.

Culture

The central place of cultural events and manifestations is the Cultural Centre with the available spatial and technical capacities of the highest level. Numerous amateur cultural and artistic societies, as well as the National Museum and the National Library nourish the culture.

Sport

There are 82 sports organizations and clubs active in the territory of the city within 20 sports areas. The tradition of organized sports has been present for over 100 years, and the top results are achieved in some areas of competitive sports (football, basketball, bowling, and volleyball). Over 11,000 people do different types of sports.
